About Lessons
Every student comes to music with a different goal, and I shape my lessons around that. My teaching style is flexible, supportive, and centered on your individual interests, whether you're learning for fun, expression, performance, or progress.
For adults, I focus on the areas you're most excited about and build lessons around your goals, supplemented with material that deepens your understanding and keeps things engaging. For younger students, lessons are more structured but still connect to music they enjoy, keeping things fun and relevant.
I always relate what we’re learning back to real music, demonstrating how techniques and concepts show up in songs across genres, so students can see how it all connects. Lessons are designed to be informative, inspiring, and tailored to each student’s pace and preferences.
I teach all levels of guitar and drums, as well as beginner to intermediate piano and bass. Lessons are available in all styles of music for students ages 6 and up.
Credentials
I'm a Berklee College of Music graduate with a degree in Music Production and Engineering (Class of 2014), and I’ve been teaching for 19 years. In that time, I’ve worked with over 1,000 students ranging in age from 3 to 83.
Many of my students have gone on to pursue music at the college level, including both guitar and drum students who were accepted into Berklee. One of my former piano and songwriting students co-produced a track on an album that reached #1 on the Billboard 200 and is now studying Music Business at the university level.
I’ve worked with students from all walks of life, whether they’re just starting out, preparing for auditions, or simply learning for the joy of it. I've even had the unique experience of teaching actor Barry Tubb (best known as Wolfman in Top Gun) during his time in the area, which added a fun chapter to my teaching journey.

Featuring a full band setup, potluck-style food, and a supportive audience, the showcase is a fun and encouraging environment for students to perform live and meet fellow students. Virtual attendance is also available for those who prefer to participate online.
